End of the Frats?

In the world of Clemson Fraternities this week, shock and awe about temporary rules for Fraternity life until a new set of official rules are made is rocking some students worlds. Last Friday the university put all frats on probation for until the end of the fall semester. Temporarily all frat parties were also canceled and Clemson would not allow any pledge activities or meetings without direct permission of the school.  This university sanction was partially due to the known fact that at least 1 person dies each semester from drinking or hazing in the Fraternities on and around campus. The sanction is also part of Clemson's plan to clean up the image of the school; from a party school to a place to learn. That plan also includes the tiger paw logo being removed from zippo lighters, shot glasses, beer cans, and other things that could be seen as the school promoting drinking and smoking of any kind. Though not in a fraternity I have noticed the impact this has made, drunk people aren't entering the dorm at 3 am to start homework and iron shirts for the next day.  So in the end what harm will come to the Fraternity life at Clemson University when this all boils over, all I know is I'll barely even know their gone.
